The first official delivery of Clarks to Cyprus began in the 1940’s. However, the turning point in the progress of the establishment of the Cyprus footwear market was in 1970 when a Clarks’ shoe factory opened in the industrial zone of Engomi in Nicosia. The plant, which existed until 2002, produced 1500 pairs of shoes a day and supplied not only the local market but also exported to countries such as England, Hong Kong, Egypt, Russia, Singapore, Malaysia and many others. Clarks shoe shops have been operating in Cyprus for more than 50 years and can be found in the four top cities of Cyprus: Nicosia, Larnaca and Limassol.
